A number of Local United Way Organizations using “Andar/360” reduce their administrative and processing costs by centralizing resources. Many implementation models are currently operating.
In the case of United Way Processing and Information Center (“UwPIC”), a number of local organizations from various states including Ohio, Indiana, Texas, and North Carolina, have formed an entirely separate entity that does not do any fundraising itself, but offers a wide array of services to its members, ranging from hardware and software hosting to data base administration, pledge and designations data entry, reports distribution, user support, etc. The Indiana Association of United Ways offers similar services to (currently) 12 local UW organizations located in the state of Indiana, but is also a fundraiser in its own right, from running the Indiana State Employees’ Community Campaign.
The United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, itself a formidable fundraiser, offers basic hardware and software hosting to some 13 neighboring organizations. Other organizations offering hosting services include United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA), United Way of Salt Lake (Salt Lake City, UT), and many others.
In all cases, the users can operate Andar/360 as if it was installed locally, thanks to Andar/360’s easy connection to the Internet.
