The 2010 United Way Andar Conference Planning Committee has been hard at work, and we want to share some information with you.
For those of us who are struggling during these tough economic times and have had our travel budgets cut, we have some exciting news for you! United Way Worldwide has graciously agreed to allow United Ways to use Flex Credits to send up to 2 people to this year’s Andar Conference in Philadelphia. Please note - this is a one-time, one-year only exception, as this is out of the realm of what NAV credits are set up to be used for. They feel, as we do, that it is important for United Ways to be able to utilize their technology to the fullest during times when budget money is short and resources are strained. We are thrilled that they have given us the opportunity this year to send people to the conference for very little cost.
Information on how to use the Flex credits for this conference will come out shortly. I am in the process of ironing out the details with UWW and will let everyone know the procedures once they have been set. In the meantime, if you have general questions about UWW Flex Credits, you can visit the United Way Online site. Their process may change a little, since this isn’t a UWW-hosted conference, but this will give you the basics.
As a reminder - we have a discounted rate through to the end of January. Those of you registering for the conference by the end of this week (as well as those of you already registered) will be able to vote on the sessions that will be offered. Next Monday, Wayne Meadows and his team from Philadelphia will be opening up the site to all registrants so that they can vote on the agenda topics. The voting will be open for a very short period of time (and only to those who have registered by that point in time) so that we can finalize the agenda and distribute it to everyone by the end of next week.
If you have any questions about the above information, please feel free to contact me, Wayne, or any other member of the Planning Committee (Kathy Downing, Kendra Green, Laurel Hoehne, Randy Rivault). We hope to see a lot of you at the conference!
